"I buy her flowers every week! We only got married two months ago, and we saw each other for the first time about six months ago when she moved here from the US. I got to know her on the internet and we were writing to each other for about a year before the first Skype call. It's interesting where technology is heading, I never thought that one day I would get married to someone from the other side of the world. In my time we went to a dance and met girls from the neighbouring village or, if you were lucky, from the next city.“ This series was created in Tel Aviv w/ @VibeIsrael. . #humansofdublin #vibeisrael #vibeurban #telaviv #wearedublin #storyoftheday #story #love #relationshipgoals

"I used to work as a personal assistant for a CEO of a high-tech start up. It was good money but I hated it. I've always had a problem with high energy levels so when I had to sit in front of a computer in a small office for a whole day I got grumpy and depressed. My life changed when I decided to adopt my dog. I was still working in the office so like everyone else I had to hire a dog walker. Paying so much money for someone else to spend time with her made me think about my life and everything seemed to fall into place with the idea of changing my career. We have a saying that 'If you don't own a pet in Tel Aviv, you are not a proper Tel Avivi!' Tel Aviv has the highest number of dogs per capita in the world and because of that, you see many, many dogs with their walkers all around the city. After quitting my assistant job, I became very popular as a walker because instead of taking lots of dogs at the same time, I focused on a couple at a time, paying attention to dogs with similar energy levels, sizes and ages. Most of the dogs I walk become friends and because they like to play together their owners get to meet and spend time together so eventually, they become friends as well. Tel Aviv has such a diverse culture so creating connections between dogs and people has become the most important part of my job." . #streetstyle according to #dublingerry 😆...... This morning ferrying our kids to sports, I spotted Gerry outside having a #insomniacoffee. All dressed up in his #sundaybest for #mayovdublin #gaa.We stopped to get petrol and I ran back to get a couple of photos of him. He asked where we were headed, so he ended getting a lift across town with us. So we left him off at Drumcondra with some #mayo supporters. He added that "people always think my suit is by #louiscopeland" 😊 . . . . . . . . #wearedublin #lovedublin #upthedubs #dublin #insta_dublin #enjoyyourcity #instadaily #ireland #comeonyouboysinblue#lifestyleblogger #streetphotography #storyoftheday #matchsupporters #photooftheday #GAA #humansofdublin #scatterpillardesignsphotos #peopleonthestreet #peoplewemeet

“A few years ago, I got a call from the wife of one of my runners saying that something is seriously wrong with her husband. I assumed the worst, and asked what happened? She said, ‘Well, I came home from work yesterday and he was out in the garden mowing the grass!’ I said; ‘Well, I don't think that’s bad’, but then she said, ‘considering that he hasn’t done it in two years there must be something wrong! Also, the other day he went and re-organised his wardrobe! That’s definitely not normal’, she said. ‘I don't know what you have been doing to him in the past six weeks but please don't stop!’ I have been competing in running since I was five years of age and I’m going to celebrate my 30th year in marathon running this year. I got so much from this sport that when I turned forty I began to think about giving back. Over the years people would say to me ‘Oh, I would love to run a marathon too, but I would never be able… I can’t… It’s way too long…’ It’s so sad to think people live their whole lives with this mindset. They start off with a positive thought and straight away they crush it with a negative one. I had to listen to this nonsense for so many years that one day I decided I would train people to show them that they can. I set up Team Carrie Marathon Runners and developed a programme that trained 721 people of all ages and shapes with a 100% success rate. I saw people’s lives change. I saw people who had been on medication for anxiety or depression set it aside when they take up running. I saw them building their confidence and self-esteem, they felt healthy and fit and they would bring that mindset to the workplace or to their relationships. I saw them becoming a better version of themselves. I always say, there is no such a thing as a bad run. Every run is a good run you just have to make the first step.” .
